The Producer: Alexander Hernández
Alexander, a producer from the Huila region, manages the 12-hectare farm "La Esperanza" alongside his wife and four children. Despite being a victim of forced displacement in 2007, he has dedicated himself to specialty coffee production, achieving Rainforest Certification while working to improve his family's quality of life through high-quality harvests.
Why Choose This Coffee?
Choose this coffee for its rich, dessert-like sweetness and to support the resilience of Alexander Hernández, a producer who has overcome displacement to build a Rainforest Certified family farm. This selection offers a sophisticated balance of classic caramel and chocolate notes enhanced by a specialized 50-hour anaerobic fermentation process.
Brewing Recommendations
To highlight the complex layers of caramel and tropical fruit, we recommend a Pour-over or French Press to accentuate the coffee's natural body and citric brightness. For a refreshing alternative that emphasizes the "syrup" profile, try a Cold Brew to bring out the deeper almond and hazelnut undertones.
