The Producer: Bekele Gemeda
Mr. Bekele Gemeda is a dedicated coffee farmer from the Worka village in Ethiopia's Yirgacheffe region. He cultivates 9.5 hectares of land with the help of his 11 children, including two married sons, and his farm is the sole source of income for his family. The care and hard work Mr. Bekele puts into his coffee is evident in the final cup. He was honored that his lot was selected for separate sale, a special recognition that is rarely given to individual farmers in Ethiopia.
